What I Do

I'm not a bookkeeping firm with a roster of services and a team you'll never meet.

I'm one person David Wagner and I do two things exceptionally well:

    1. Keeping your books current every month, and
    2. Cleaning up the mess when they've gotten away from you.

That focus is intentional.

It means you get someone who's genuinely expert at what they do, not someone juggling ten service lines and spreading their attention thin.

Monthly Bookkeeping

Accurate, consistent books every month delivered on time, reconciled to the penny, and ready for your CPA when tax season arrives.

Every month, you get:

  • Your books are always current. No backlogs. No scrambling at year end.
  • No more mystery transactions. Every dollar in and out is categorized and explained.
  • Your accounts always match reality. Bank and credit card reconciliations done monthly.
  • You always know where your cash stands. What came in.  What went out.  What it means for your business going forward.
  • Numbers you'll actually understand. Every month I walk you through your financials on video, in plain English.  No more staring at a report wondering what it means.
  • Your CPA will thank you. Clean, organized books mean faster, cheaper tax prep.
  • A real person who knows your business. Questions don't go to a ticket queue.  They come to me.

    Cleanup & Catchup

Behind on your books?  It happens.  Weeks, months, even years of transactions piling up — it's more common than you think, and it's exactly what I'm here for.  I dig in, sort it out, and hand you back a clean, accurate financial history.

    No judgment.  Just results.

    Every project includes:

    • A complete review of your financial history. Every transaction, every account — accounted for and accurate.

    • Every transaction categorized and explained. No more mystery charges.  No more guessing where the money went.

    • Every account reconciled. Your books will match your bank statements.  Down to the penny.

    • A clear picture of where you stand.  Profit & Loss.  Balance Sheet.  And whatever else you need to understand your business — I tailor the reporting to you, not the other way around.

    • Audit-ready documentation. Organized, accurate, and defensible — exactly what your CPA needs.

    • A natural path forward. Most clients move into monthly bookkeeping after a cleanup.  The hard part is done.  Let's keep it that way.

      A Note on Nonprofits

I have a soft spot for nonprofits — and the experience to back it up.

Nonprofits have unique bookkeeping needs that general bookkeepers often overlook.  Fund accounting.  Grant tracking.  Donor reporting.  The financial transparency that boards, auditors, and funding sources demand.

      I understand that world.

I'm a part of that world, having two amazing daughters on the autism spectrum.

They are why I care so deeply about organizations doing meaningful work in the special needs community — and that connection drives how I show up for every nonprofit I serve.

If you represent a nonprofit and want to talk, I'd love to hear from you.
